If the Holy Spirit has given you a heads up, a deep feeling, a thought that permeates, or a vision that’s clearly from the Lord . . . run with it.
My husband and I have talked and dreamed about having land and a farm for years. Some seasons with different intensity, but one or both was always passionately hopeful. I knew my newfound focus for the country life and agri-preneurship was not something I could have manufactured.
I was the girl who grew up in the burbs and had very different plans for my life. After college, I was going to climb the corporate ladder overseas. Live the big city life. Now, all of a sudden, I wanted to be a farmer.
The simpler life was calling.
Here I am today, surprised and overwhelmed, not only by God’s blessing but all of the decisions to build our farmhouse and prepare ten acres for God’s vision.
If I had big faith, would I be caught off guard like this? Or would I reach for my house plans, my knowledge on all things honey bees, and whip out my trained green-thumb for the adventure I knew God was bringing.
Don’t get caught with a persistent faith but no action steps toward the promise God has made to you.
Keep praying, listening with eyes, while scanning the horizon. Do one tiny thing today towards the hope you have in the One who gives Hope.
